Step 1.
New dialup connection setup should start with creating a New Phonebook Entry.
If the TCP/IP protocol is installed, you can proceed with step 2.
If the TCP/IP protocol is not installed, go to Start, Control Panel, double click Network,
click the Protocols tab, click Add, click TCP/IP Protocol, click OK, and then follow the instructions on your screen.

Step 2.
Double click the My Computer icon on your desktop then double click Dial-Up Networking.
(You can also get to the Dial-Up Networking folder by clicking on Start, Programs, and Accessories).

Step 3.
Now you will create your Express 56 Phonebook Entry: click New to use the Setup Wizard.

Step 4.
Under Name The New Phonebook Entry enter Express 56 and click the Next button.

Step 5.
Select "I am calling the Internet" and click Next... |
Step 6.
Enter the Area Code and Phone Number of the local EXPRESS 56 access number you will be dialing into. Click next...
If you don't know yet what is your local EXPRESS 56 access number, click here
to search for one in your area. We strongly suggest you to check with your local telephone company to make sure the
number you are dialing is local and free of additional charges.

Step 7.
Click Finish button.

Step 8.
Click More and then click Edit Entry & Modem Properties. This opens a window with five tabs across the top: Basic, Server, Script, Security, and X25.

Step 9.
Select the Server tab. Under Dial-up server type select PPP: Windows NT, Windows 95 Plus, Internet. Under Network protocols check the TCP/IP box ONLY. Check Enable software compression.

Step 10.
Click the TCP/IP Settings button. Select Server assigned IP address.
Select Server assigned name server addresses. Check Use IP header compression and check Use default gateway on remote network. Now click the OK button.

Step 11.
Now select the Security tab. Under Authentication and encryption policy select Accept any authentication including clear text. click OK.

Step 12.
To connect, double click on the Express 56 Phonebook Entry you just made.
When the 'Connect To' window opens, enter your user ID in the User name field and your password in the
Password field. Leave the Domain field BLANK. If you don't want to enter your password every time, check
Save password. Click the Connect button.
