Step 1.
Click on My Computer.

Step 2.
Click on Dial-Up Networking.

Step 3.
Click on Make New Connection.

Step 4.
The Make New Connection Wizard appears. Type EXPRESS 56 for the name of the computer you are dialing into. Set the device as your modem and click next...

Step 5.
Enter the Area Code and Phone Number of the local EXPRESS 56 access number you will be dialing into. Click next...
If you’re not sure of your local EXPRESS 56 access number, click here to search for one in your area. Be sure to check with your local telephone company to make sure the number you are dialing is local and free of additional charges.
Step 6.
Click Finish to create your new EXPRESS 56 Dialup Icon.

Step 7.
Once you create the EXPRESS 56 dial-up Icon, you should check the dial-up Properties and make sure they are set properly. Right-click on the EXPRESS 56 dial-up icon to bring up the menu and select Properties...

Step 8.
Click on the Server Types tab and set your computer as shown on the picture. Then click on the TCP/IP Settings button to see the settings for Step 9...

Step 9.
Clicking on the TCP/IP Settings button will bring up this window. Set your systems settings as they are on the picture. Click OK, then OK again, to return to your EXPRESS 56 Dial-up Icon. You are now properly configured to dial into the EXPRESS 56 Network.
NOTE: Once you finish configuring your settings, you can then drag and drop the EXPRESS 56 Dial-up Icon onto your Desktop or Start Tool Bar for easy access.

Step 10.
Click on the EXPRESS 56 icon to launch the dialup access window...

Step 11.
Enter the following information as shown:
User name: Also called your User ID. Your Username must be entered with the @express56.com realm, (just like your e-mail address). If your username is john.smith then your User ID is john.smith@express56.com. Be sure you enter the Login ID as all lower case - no CAPITAL letters (make sure caps-lock is not on).
Password: Enter your login password. It too must be in all lowercase.
Save Password: If you want Windows to save your password, check the Save Password check box.
Click the Connect button and your machine should connect to the EXPRESS 56 Network...
Should this not happen recheck your settings and try again.
